If you’ve ever flipped the pages of a gossip magazine, you’ve probably noticed that all
of the celebrities have one thing in common: beautiful hair. Blond, brunette, curly, wavy,
or straight, they all seem to have perfect hair days, every day. It’s easy to feel inadequate
when you look at your own hair in the mirror. Most people deal with one or more hair
problems on a daily basis. Whether it’s dry hair, oily hair, frizzy hair, or thin hair, you
may be surprised to know that celebrities deal with the same hair issues as regular people.
It’s easy to dismiss their beautiful locks as unattainable when you don’t have a team of
stylists at your disposal. However, you don’t need access to Jennifer Aniston’s bank
account to get hair like hers. Here are some common hair problems and celebrity-inspired
ways to solve them.
Dry Hair
Dry hair is one of the top complaints when it comes to hair. It’s easy to see why. Almost
everything seems to dry out hair: blow drying, straightening, coloring, highlighting,
and even washing too much can leave your locks feeling dry and brittle. Celebrities
are especially susceptible to dry hair because they visit salons more often than most
people. The latest celebrity craze for quenching dry hair is Moroccan Oil. Katy Perry uses
Moroccan Oil to counter the effects of dryness caused by excessive heat styling. Natalie
Portman has been known to use Moroccan Oil to keep her dry, textured hair looking
healthy. The main ingredient in Moroccan Oil is argan oil. This is fairly easy to find in
health food stores and will help restore luster to your locks.
Oily Hair
While dry hair is quite prevalent, plenty of people suffer from the opposite problem: hair
that is too oily. You know how it goes, “you wash your hair when you wake up and by
lunch time, it looks like an oil slick. This might look okay on Megan Fox but on you it
just looks dirty. Thankfully, there are some easy ways to deal with this problem yourself.
A beer rinse is a great way to get rid of excess oil. Just wash your hair and use beer to
rinse out the shampoo and conditioner. Try to leave it on for a few minutes in the shower
before rinsing it out. Don’t worry, this won’t leave you smelling like you just left a frat
house. The beer scent will go away once your hair is dry and you’ll be left with hair
that feels clean and looks shiny, not greasy. If you don’t have time to wash your hair,
cornstarch or dry shampoo can be shaken onto the roots and combed through to help soak
up some of the extra oil sitting on your scalp.
Frizzy Hair
Frizzy hair can be frustrating. If your hair starts to get fuzzy at the slightest
hint of moisture in the atmosphere, you’ve probably tried every serum on the market to
keep it from looking bad. While some help a little, others seem to make the problem
worse. That’s why Nicole Richie turns to the newest hair treatment craze: Brazilian blow
dry. This keratin treatment can help keep frizzy hair smooth for a few months at a time.If
Brazilian keratin treatment isn’t in your budget, you might want to try coconut oil. This
oil helps keep your hair looking healthy and sleek while protecting it from frizziness. Just
be sure to apply a very small amount or you’ll end up looking greasy.
Fine or Thinning Hair
If you have baby fine hair, a great cut might be all you need to turn the problem around.
Fine hair tends to look fuller if it’s on the shorter side. A few layers near the top can give
the illusion of more hair. You might also want to try hair extensions. Christina Aguilera
uses extensions to make her fine hair look big, sexy, and full of life. This is a fast way to
make your hair look a lot more voluminous.
